University Requirements

• 数学0701 (4 s.h.)和/或 0701年英格 (4 s.h.), if required by placement testing.
• All Temple students must take a minimum of two writing-intensive courses as part 的 主要的. The specific courses required for this 主要的 are 蒙古包3096 和 蒙古包4296.

College of 文科 Requirements

• Completion of a minimum of 123 credits, including:
  • 90 credits in CLA/CST courses;
  • 45 credits of which must be at the upper level (numbered 2000-4999).
    • Distribution Requirement for Humanities 主要的s: Six upper level credits must be earned in the Social 科学, 科学, 和/or interdisciplinary subject areas. Select from the following CLA departments 和 programs: Africology & African 美国研究, 美国研究, 人类学, 亚洲研究, 刑事司法, Cybersecurity 和 Human Behavior, 经济学, Environmental Studies, 性别, 性, 和 Women's Studies, Geography 和 Urban Studies, 全球研究, 历史, 犹太研究, Latin 美国研究, 女同性恋, 同性恋, 双性恋, 和 Transgender Studies, 文科, 神经科学(CLA), 政治科学, 心理学, 和社会学, or any department in the College of 科学 和 Technology.
  • A minimum GPA of 2.0, cumulatively, in all CLA/CST coursework, 和 in the 主要的 department.
  • Only courses in which a student receives a grade of at least C- can satisfy GenEd, 主要的, 小, or CLA Foreign Language 和 全球研究 requirements.
  •  专业 Development Requirement
    • All students in the College of 文科 are required to take a 1 credit seminar in professional development. 班1002 专业 Development for 文科 Majors is the appropriate course option for this 主要的. Other courses that fulfill this requirement may be found on the CLA College Requirements page. Only one course in this category may count towards graduation.
  • Foreign Language/全球研究 Requirements:
    • The language requirements 的 German 主要的 exceed the minimum College of 文科 requirements; no additional coursework is necessary for this requirement.
  • Notes on Foreign Language Study
    • The third level of language is numbered 1003 in French, 西班牙语, 和 Portuguese 和 numbered 2001 in all other foreign language subjects.
    • Students are strongly encouraged to take the third level of a foreign language as it is the minimum required for election to the prestigious honor society Phi Beta Kappa. (Taking the course does not guarantee admission but not taking it guarantees exclusion.)

Major Requirements: Ten courses in German (30 credits/10 课程)

Course levels are incremental in skills 和 content. 课程 must be taken sequentially or in some instances may be taken concurrently. Students who initially place beyond 蒙古包2001 以…开始 蒙古包2002 or another course at the 2000-level, as appropriate. Consult the faculty advisor for information.
